Bengaline is a densly woven fabric with ribs at intervals across the fabric. It is made with single warps yarns and heavy filling yarns. It can be made of any and all fibers, as a single fiber or in a blend. The fabric does not wear well. It is best to dry clean. Wet cleaning should be avoided for 2 reasons: shrinkage and the possible presence of soluble sizings, which means water marks could appear. They would be difficult if not impossible to remove.Heavily soiled you might try dry-wet-dry method.
